Bring your Wi-Fi Cards

From the ABA: "We will provide Wi-Fi network throughout the Second Floor of the Atlanta Hilton which will provide you with wireless internet access. If you have a laptop with Wi-Fi built in, you'll want to bring it to the meeting. If you have a laptop without Wi-Fi, you might want to purchase a Wi-Fi card or USB adapter for your laptop for about $50 at any computer store."

According to the Hilton: I talked to someone at the front desk at the Hilton. According to him, the hotel provides wireless internet access throughout the entire hotel, including the rooms. The cost for access is $9.95 for 24 hours. They now measure use from when you log on, rather than the old 12 Noon to 12 Noon standard. The Hotel will also loan you a wireless card or a wireless USB adapter for your laptop for $5 for the entire length of your stay. However, he cautioned me that service is better in some areas (lobby) than in others and that some wireless cards work better than others and some won't work at all. So, it looks like we may all have to do a little bit of fiddling to get it to work in our rooms. But, that's what makes it fun, right?
